Business Structure
Doubtless Detailing operates as an ordinary partnership between two partners under New Zealand law. Both partners share joint and several liability for the business operations.
Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Doubtless Detailing ("we," "us," or "our"), a vehicle detailing business operating in New Zealand. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Services
We provide professional vehicle detailing services, which may include but are not limited to exterior washing, polishing, waxing, interior cleaning, vacuuming, and other related vehicle care services as agreed upon at the time of booking.
Our services are available to individuals who are at least 16 years of age, which aligns with the minimum age for obtaining a driver's license in New Zealand. By using our services, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
Booking and Appointments
- Booking Process: You may book our services through our website contact form, by phone, or email.
- Appointment Confirmation: Your appointment is not confirmed until you receive an explicit confirmation from us.
- Rescheduling: We require at least 24 hours' notice for rescheduling appointments. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee.
Eligibility
- Accurate Information: You must provide accurate and complete information about your vehicle, including any pre-existing damage, issues, or special considerations.
- Vehicle Preparation: Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for removing personal belongings from your vehicle before the service. We are not responsible for any personal items left in the vehicle.
- Vehicle Access: You agree to provide us with necessary access to your vehicle to perform the agreed services.
- Vehicle Condition Disclosure: You must inform us of any conditions that might affect our services (e.g., recent paint work, existing damage).
Your Responsibilities
We reserve the right to refuse service for:
- Contaminated Vehicles: Vehicles contaminated with illicit drugs or hazardous chemicals that pose a health or safety risk.
- Severely Damaged Vehicles: Vehicles that have been written off due to crashes or severely damaged by floods or other events.
- Other Risks: Any vehicle that, in our reasonable judgment, presents unusual risks or challenges beyond the scope of our standard services.
We may, at our sole discretion, agree to service vehicles with mild damage or special conditions on a case-by-case basis.
Payment Terms
- Pricing: Our prices are as quoted at the time of booking or as displayed on our current price list.
- Payment Methods: We accept payment via bank transfer and credit/debit card through Stripe.
- Invoicing: Invoices will be generated through Xero and sent to your provided email address.
- Payment Timing: Payment is due within 14 days from the date of invoice.
- Late Payments: Overdue accounts may incur additional charges and interest.
- Cancellation by You: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of 10% of the service price.
- Cancellation by Us: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., severe weather, equipment failure). No cancellation fee will be charged in such cases.
- Refunds: If you are not satisfied with our services, please notify us within 48 hours of service completion. We will assess your concerns and may offer remedies as outlined in the Service Satisfaction and Remedies section.
Service Satisfaction and Remedies
- Service Standards: We commit to providing services according to the standards agreed upon at the time of booking.
- Unsatisfactory Service: If our services do not meet the agreed standards, we may, at our discretion, offer:
- A partial or full refund, depending on the nature and extent of the service deficiency
- Remedy of the issue through continued service at a discounted rate or at no additional charge
- Other reasonable accommodations as appropriate to the situation
- Damage During Service: In the event we cause damage to your vehicle during our service:
- We will promptly notify you of the damage
- We will attempt to remedy the damage to an acceptable standard as mutually agreed upon
- The remedy process will be determined on a case-by-case basis
- Notification Period: You must notify us of any dissatisfaction with our services or any damage you believe was caused by our services within 48 hours of service completion.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage or conditions
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by pre-existing and undisclosed vehicle defects
- Consequential or indirect losses
- Loss of use of the vehicle during service
Insurance: We are in the process of obtaining business insurance. Until such time as insurance is in place, we operate without business insurance coverage.
Property Damage: While we take great care with your vehicle, you acknowledge that detailing processes involve inherent risks. We will promptly notify you of any damage that occurs during our service.
Privacy and Data Protection
Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is our property and is protected by New Zealand and international copyright laws.
Consumer Guarantees Act
Our services are subject to the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). Under the CGA, we guarantee that:
- Our services will be provided with reasonable care and skill
- Our services will be fit for purpose
- Our services will be completed within a reasonable time
- Our services will be provided at a reasonable price (where the price is not agreed)
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Where any term in this document conflicts with your rights under the CGA, the provisions of the CGA will prevail.

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services following any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
